Apple CEO Tim Cook is offering two lucky fans the chance to join him for coffee at the company headquarters in Cupertino, California.
However the chance to chit-chat with the tech executive over a latte comes at quite a price …$135,000 and rising.
Don’t worry, this is not a sign that Apple is desperate for money following the latest reduction in profits…this is a charity auction to raise money for The RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights.
When the auction opened yesterday the initial bids were at around the $5,000 mark but they have been rising steadily ever since and are expected to climb still further.
It was estimated that the auction would raise around $50,000 but that barrier was quickly smashed and with 20 days still to go it is unclear just how high this could go. Could it end up being the most expensive cup of coffee ever?
If you win then don’t worry about being pushed for time…you have up to a year to arrange a mutually convenient time.
I hope it comes with a couple of biscuits too.
The lucky winner will get to spend between 30 minutes and an hour with the CEO but travel and accommodation are extra…and the winning bid is also subject to security screening.
Update: In the few minutes it took to write this post, the winning bid jumped up to $155,000. Just how high will it go? Could it get to $1,000,000 I wonder?
