The words “Apple” and “iPhone” go together like, well, Apple and iPhone but it all could have been so different.
Before the iconic smartphone was launched the powers-that-be at Apple were considering a number of different options to name the new device.
They included:
- Mobi
- TriPod
- TelePod and
- iPad
Somehow I don’t think that the phrase “Apple’s flagship TelePod 5 smartphone” sounds quite right does it?
It sounds more like something from a sci-fi movie which might be used to beam down to an alien planet.
The list of rejected names was revealed by former Apple advertising executive Ken Segall when speaking recently at the University of Arizona’s Department of Marketing.
