It looks as though, for now at least, $600,000 is about as much as anyone is prepared to pay for a coffee break with Apple’s Tim Cook.
The chance to meet the CEO in his office for an hour is the prize in a charity auction to raise money for The RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights.
It took just a couple of days for the bids to reach $600,000 from an initial bid of $5,000 but since Friday nobody has topped it.
The auction has 15 days left to run so there is still time for it to go higher.
Maybe people are playing it a bit smarter now.
If I had that sort of money to spend on a coffee then I probably would not be placing a bid right now…I would be happy to leave it until nearer the closing date and see how I got on with that.
Maybe other people are having the same idea.
But then again if you really have that kind of money to splash out on a coffee break (albeit in the company of Apple’s CEO) saving money may not be high on the agenda.
